Oklahoma State University’s interim head of the Department of Physics has been named a distinguished scholar by the country’s largest and most prominent particle physics laboratories.
Dr. Kaladi Babu is one of three theoretical physicists named as a 2017 Distinguished Scholar by the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, or Fermilab.

“International Horror Film Directors: Global Fear” by Dr. Danny Shipka, OSU Assistant Professor of Mass Communications, and Dr. Ralph Beliveau, an assistant professor of Mass Communications at the University of Oklahoma, explores how basic human fears are exploited by figures in the genre.
For David Thompson, a senior in Psychology and Sociology from Derby, Kansas, the future holds many things. He plans to go on to earn a master’s in forensic psychology and work for federal law enforcement as a criminal profiler. He plans to marry Coloeen, his fiancée of five years. He plans to move far beyond his start in humble Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved a new bachelor’s degree in music industry intended to address a growing demand from students and employers alike. OSU’s Bachelor of Science Degree in Music industry will train individuals to work in recording, music publishing, and live entertainment, offering courses taught by those who are familiar and active in the industry. The board’s decision is still subject to approval by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

And a third left Iran at age 13, finished his high school equivalency in the U.K., and started junior college in the U.S. at age 15. Two things tie the three of them together: taking risks and starting a Master's of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Oklahoma State University.
Undergraduate life sciences researchers investigating microbial diversity and bacterial genetics as part of their courses are contributing to work being published in international scientific journals. Their research to identify novel strains of bacteria resulted in the students co-authoring eight publications about their discoveries in the journals Genome Announcements and Genomics Data.
