Requirements

The degree requires two areas of concentration. The first area is 15 hours, and must be from a College of Arts and Sciences discipline (see degree requirements below). The second area is 12 hours, and can be any discipline. Many students use courses they completed previously toward one or both areas of concentration.

The final capstone course (A&S 4013) is a senior project to tie your studies together, usually in the form of a research report. Completion of this project often provides an advantage in the job search process, as you have conducted an extensive review or study of a particular topic or problem in your chosen subject.

Previous undergraduate college credits earned from an accredited college or university do not expire, and may be used toward a current OSU degree plan (such as Multidisciplinary Studies). A minimum of 60-hours from a 4-year university and a minimum of 30 hours from OSU are required.

*Not all areas of concentration are fully online. Certain areas may only be completed with on-campus courses. Some areas may depend on previous credits completed, or in current semester courses offered.
