About
The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music is a community of artists, performers, composers, and scholars who are committed to preparing you for a meaningful career in the professional world of music. A degree in music provides you with the opportunity to develop artistically while securing the knowledge and skills necessary to be competitive in the music profession. The music program at OSU fosters the highest standards of music performance and scholarship to prepare you for success in your chosen music specialty.
Each year the Greenwood School of Music presents more than 200 concerts, recitals, master classes, guest artist events, and student recitals that are open to the public and enjoyed by community residents as well as OSU faculty, staff, and students.
Courses to expect for this major include Music History, Music Theory, Large and Chamber Ensembles, Opera, Jazz Studies, and Marching Band Methods.

Students graduate from OSU prepared to be successful in a wide variety of musical careers that include performance, teaching, working in the music industry, and beyond. Our graduates enjoy successful careers in a variety of fields.

The Finish in Four plans are designed to assist you in an eight semester plan guiding you to graduate within four years. You may use this as a guide to plan your undergraduate education, but you should adjust it to fit your personal goals.

Minor
A Music minor is perfect for you if you have a passion for music. With courses such as Music Theory, Sight Singing, and Music History the Music minor also gives students the flexibility to focus on areas of interest.
