About

The Mathematics Department offers an exciting environment for your collegiate studies with an award-winning, internationally renowned faculty. Small class sizes make it easy to interact with the faculty, and innovative courses such as the project-oriented Math Modeling course enhance the curriculum. Offering both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, you have the option to focus in Actuarial or Financial Mathematics. Both degrees include courses in accounting, economics and finance and prepare you for careers in actuarial science and for graduate study in finance or economics.

For more than twenty years the mathematics department has had a special facility known as the Mathematics Learning Success Center (MLSC) which provides help for you in lower division mathematics classes. The MLSC is located in a beautiful, 8000 sq ft facility in the central library on Campus. The center provides free tutoring from instructors in lower-division courses and undergraduate tutors and has a 130-station laboratory with access to the web and media for self guided study. 

Courses to expect for this major include Trigonometry, Differential Equations, Calculus of Several Variables and Introduction to Analysis.

Minor

Mathematics is a logical supporting subject for majors in a wide variety of fields. The minor in Mathematics is very flexible and permits courses in a broad range of mathematical subjects.

Become an OK-LSAMP Scholar! OK-LSAMP is a consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities working together to develop programs aimed at increasing the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The OK-LSAMP scholarship program provides scholars with increased opportunities and connections, including undergraduate research experiences, graduate school preparation, international experiences, and internships/externships with companies in the STEM fields.
