About
If you not only love language, but also love what language can do in the world, the Professional Writing program within the English Department is perfect for you. Specifically, the program teaches you to investigate the act of composing texts in multiple situated contexts, within both academic and workplace settings. In addition, we help both undergraduate and graduate students concentrating on professional writing seek opportunities for internships in local and national companies. Many of our graduate students also gain first-hand experience through teaching assistantships, tutor training, and working in the OSU Writing Center.
Courses to expect for this major include Professional Writing Theory, Technical Writing, Style and Editing, and Visual Rhetorical and Design.
