About 

Communication, both verbal and non-verbal, is the foundation to how we humans connect with one another, and the world around us. The Communication Sciences & Disorders program gives you an in-depth study of normal speech, language, hearing processes, and background orientation to disorders of communication to in preparation for a graduate program. If you have a good background in biology and enjoy working with people, this might be an excellent major for you. Courses focus primarily on normal communication development, the anatomy and physiology of the speech mechanism, the acoustics of speech, phonetics, audiology, and speech-language disorders.

Career Options

This program prepares you to enter a graduate program in order to pursue certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Our graduates enjoy successful careers in a variety of fields:
