Introduction
Christopher Jones will complete his Geology degree in May with a minor in History. His time at OSU has been enhanced by the diverse programs, organizations and opportunities offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. Jones has served as a member of the CAS Student Council, president of the OSU Geological Society, and senator for the Residence Hall Association. Jones has also worked at the OSU Writing Center as a peer-tutor and assistant director. His involvement on campus and in the community led to his selection as the CAS Outstanding Junior in 2019, a Senior of Significance, and an Outstanding Senior.
Working in a geochemistry lab has been a highlight of Jones’ undergraduate experience, and he credits much of his success and opportunities to the passion and dedication CAS puts forward to undergraduate research and success. His favorite experience was participating in a research expedition to the South Sandwich Islands in Spring 2019 and conducting a research project on samples he collected.
“CAS has provided foundational courses, support, advising, and opportunities that have enriched my life as a student, given me connections for my future, and provided a steppingstone to my career.”
