The Oklahoma State University chapter of Phi Beta Kappa presents physics expert Dr. Roger Blais on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Edmon Low Library Browsing Room. His talk, titled The Two Cultures Revisited: Science and Humanities in the Core is free and open to the public.
As Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of Tulsa, Blais is the Chief Academic Officer of the University, reporting directly to the President. He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics at the University of Oklahoma in 1971. His areas of research include experimental low density plasmas (gaseous electronics), remote sensing nad modeling of atmospheric pollution, multiphase flow instrumentation, and articifical lift technology.
Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest and one of the most prestigious honor societies, founded in 1776. It recognizes excellence on the part of students with a first or second major in a liberal arts discipline. Oklahoma State University’s chapter was established in 2013.
