OSU Graphic Design Student Earns Adobe Honors

Aaron Hermann, a graphic design senior at Oklahoma State University, earned semifinalist honors for two separate projects at Adobe’s 2014 Design Achievement Awards, an international design competition that attracted more than 4,400 entries.

Hermann, from Stillwater, was honored in the animation category for “How Wolves Hunt” (http://www.ostate.tv/play/C7174385-7588-74C9-DA85-87CADD2D79BB) and in the motion graphics category for “Hacktivists” (http://www.ostate.tv/?play=0675589D-6258-38E9-4038-87CAC3EF037A), which previously won “Best in Category” honors at the 2014 Dallas Society of Visual Communicators National Student Show and Conference.

“I am fortunate to have many excellent students studying motion design but what distinguishes Aaron is his fearlessness in exploring unfamiliar, challenging concepts and techniques,” said Justen Renyer, assistant professor of graphic design.  “Many of his projects are creative, smart and impeccably executed.  I look forward to following his professional career.  He’s a humble, helpful guy who is fully deserving of all the accolades that he has earned.”

The Adobe Design Achievement Awards celebrate student achievement reflecting the powerful convergence of technology and the creative arts.  The competition – which showcases individual and group projects– honors the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, game developers, and computer artists from the world’s top institutions of higher education.
