The OSU Museum of Art’s Gardiner Gallery will present the works of nine graduating seniors during its Senior Studio Capstone Exhibition starting Wednesday, March 26, through Friday, April 4, on the first floor at the Bartlett Center at Knoblock Street and Morrill Avenue in Stillwater.
The public is invited to a reception and talk at the gallery on Thursday, March 27. The reception is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and each of the students will offer a short talk about their works from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
The works on view in the exhibit feature paintings, drawings, metalwork, and sculptures representing the student artists’ achievements through their rigorous course of study at OSU. The exhibit demonstrates their command of artistic techniques as well as critical thinking, communications skills and professional exhibit practices they’ve learned from faculty over the years.
The seniors exhibiting their works include Stephanie Addison from Tulsa; Randall Barnes, Choctaw; Lezley Deese, Arcadia; Lindsay Gernhardt, Tulsa; Megan Hughes, Dayton, Minn.; Paxton Maddox, Guymon; William Mantor, Edmond; Michael Rahn, Claremore, and Jill Tovar, Drumright.
The gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays in the spring from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, phone 405-744-2780 or email museum@okstate.edu.
