A popular comic strip gets an unauthorized parody treatment as the characters become teenagers with issues in the OSU Theatre Council’s presentation of “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” with performances Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 16-18, at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 :30 p.m. in Jerry Davis Studio Theatre in Gundersen Hall.

The names of the show’s characters are familiar but different and the situations they encounter deal with serious issues including suicide, eating disorders, death, teen violence, identity, sexual relations, etc. that make this a presentation strictly for adults. The show’s title reflects the death of the lead character’s favorite dog.

Produced and performed exclusively by students who are members of the OSU Theatre Council, “Blockhead” is directed by Dara Affholter and Garrett Pezant. The production has not been authorized or approved by United Features Syndicate or the estate of Charles M. Schulz.
