Several departments in the College of Arts and Sciences ranked highly when it comes to the number of degrees conferred to minority students within Oklahoma State University, as calculated by higher education news magazine “Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.”

The Communications Sciences and Disorders received a top ranking for number of Native American undergraduate students graduated, according to Diverse’s annual Top 100 rankings, along with an eighth ranking for students of two or more races. The college also received second place rankings in biological and biomedical sciences, and in communications and journalism-related programs for Native Americans. The college ranked fourth in computer and information sciences, fifth in physical sciences, sixth for liberal arts, seventh for performing arts, and 12th in psychology, all for Native American students.

The college’s CDIS program also earned a seventh place ranking for Master’s degrees conferred to multiracial students. For PhD degrees conferred, the college placed 18th in psychology degrees conferred to Asian Americans, and 22nd for overall minority degrees. The psychology program also ranked 24th in PhD degrees conferred to Hispanic students.
