The OSU Department of Sociology will welcome Dr. Joane Nagel to campus Monday, Oct. 17 as part of the 2016 Bradford Gray Lecture Series.
Nagel, University Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of Kansas, will present the lecture “Gender and the Moral Economy of Climate Change” beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Willard Hall, room 010.
The author of the 2016 book “Gender and Climate Change: Impacts, Science, Policy”, is a nationally-renowned scholar in the fields of ethnicity, gender and sexuality both in the U.S. and abroad, the militarization of science, and global climate change. In addition to four books, Nagel has been published in journals including “Peace Review,” “European Journal of Women’s Studies,” and “The Sociological Quarterly.” Nagel served as the Sociology Program Officer at the National Science Foundation from 2002 to 2004.
