The Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra and a combined choir including the OSU Concert Chorale and University Singers will perform the 33rd annual President’s Masterworks Concert on Sunday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center Concert Hall.
Under the direction of Maestro Enrique Carreón-Robledo, the performance will feature Berlioz’s Tristia (based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet), Beethoven’s classic Symphony No. 5, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable 1812 Festival Overture.
“We’re thrilled to present this performance of symphonic and choral masterpieces on Sunday afternoon,” Dr. George Speed, professor and interim head of the Department of Music at OSU said. “We so appreciate President (Burns) Hargis’s support of the arts at OSU, and it will be our privilege to have both the President and First Lady (Ann Hargis) in the audience this weekend. Many of our top students will be honored at the concert, as well, so we look forward to a large turnout!”
Reserved seating tickets ($7 students/$10 all others) are available online at marketplace.okstate.edu or through the OSU Music Office. Call Janet Lawson at (405) 744-8997 for more information.
