Prominent Hydrogeologist to Deliver Birdsall-Dreiss Distinguished Lecture

The Oklahoma State University Boone Pickens School of Geology will host Dr. Shemin Ge for its annual Birdsall-Dreiss Distinguished Lecture series.  Ge will lecture in the Noble Research Center, room 106, on Friday, March 4 at 4 p.m.

A geology professor at the University of Colorado, Ge will deliver a lecture titled, “Fluid-Induced Earthquakes: Insights from Hydrogeology and Poro-mechanics.” 

Ge has taught at Colorado since 1993 and served form 2012-14 as Program Director for the National Science Foundation’s Hydrologic Sciences Program.  She was the editor of Hydrogeology Journal from 2008-12, associate editor of Journal of Ground Water from 2003-09 and associate editor of Geofluids from 2003 to the present.  Additionally, she has served on panels and committees for the National Science Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy, and Integrated Ocean Drilling Programs.
