Attorney and author Hannibal Johnson will speak about Tulsa’s Black Wall Street and the impact of the Tulsa Race Riot on the Greenwood community on Monday, February 29 at 6:30 p.m. inside Oklahoma State University’s Classroom Building, room 313.
Johnson is the author of BLACK WALL STREET and Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood District. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Johnson was honored by the Oklahoma Bar Association with the 2012 “Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Diversity Award.” He has served as an adjunct professor at OSU as well as The University of Tulsa College of Law and the University of Oklahoma. He is past president of Leadership Tulsa, the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, and the Northeast Oklahoma Black Lawyers Association.
The event is sponsored by the OSU Center for Africana Studies and the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship. A representative from the OSU Bookstore will be present to sell copies of BLACK WALL STREET.
