CAS Student Council hosts 2nd annual Autumn Arts Gala

On the evening of Friday, Nov. 6, Oklahoma State University's College of Arts and Sciences's Student Council (CASSC) held the second annual Autumn Arts Gala in the Concert Hall of the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts.

OSU soprano Malia Sherwood is accompanied by Louise Regina.

The second annual event concluded the CASSC's Arts and Sciences Week, which is held each fall. This year four students from the OSU Department of English read aloud original works to the gala's audience. All the English students are also members of the department's Frontier Mosaic Literary Magazine. Eight students from the OSU Department of Music also performed a several classical and contemporary compositions and two opera arias.

Following the performances of the evening, gala attendees were invited to a post-reception at the Gardiner Art Gallery across the street, where three seniors from the OSU Department of Art, Art History & Graphic Design had their works on display at a Senior Studio Capstone Exhibition.

Senior art pieces were on exhibit at the post-reception in the Gardiner Art Gallery.

Last year, CASSC members created the Autumn Arts Gala as a way to recognize and showcase the students from the arts and humanities each fall. The ASSC plans to continue this free annual event.
