Keyboard area of the OSU music department to host the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association annual state conference

The Keyboard Area of the OSU Music Department is hosting the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association (OMTA) annual State Conference this weekend on campus. It is a three day event from Thursday, May 28 through Saturday, May 30 that brings guest artists, Oklahoma piano faculty, independent music teachers, and student competition winners from across the state to campus. There will be student and faculty recitals, guest lectures, presentations, exhibitors and a solo recital by the conference artist, Sean Chen. 
 
The Faculty Showcase recital that will feature  OSU Piano Faculty Thomas Lanners, Heather Lanners and Sun Min Kim along with several other piano faculty from across the state. The faculty showcase recital is open to students.
 
The Faculty Showcase Recital will take place on Friday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. 
 
The  Guest Artist Recital will take place on Friday, May 29 at 8:00 p.m in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall and is free to all attendees
 
 Sean Chen is a 25-year-old American Pianist who has made appearances as a soloist in numerous symphony orchestras across the country. In March 2014 International Piano magazine named Chen "One To Watch." He is currently under the management of the American Pianists Association. When not at the piano, Chen enjoys tinkering with computers and composing.
