More than 150 students from Oklahoma State University’s College of Artsand Sciences were recognized at the 2015 College of Artsand Sciences Honors and Awards Banquet held April 16, 2015, in the Student Union Ballroom.
The annual event, hosted by the Artsand Sciences Student Council and the Artsand Sciences Student Services Center, honors students of all class levels for their achievements both inside and outside of the classroom.
The College recognized 46 students graduating with degrees from the Honors College, 27 top seniors chosen by the College’s departments and minors programs, and the College’s 2015 Top 10 Seniors.
Forty-one students were also recognized as recipients for a variety of scholarships, including many that were funded through alumni endowments and contributions and a new scholarship created by CAS Dean Bret Danilowicz.
CAS faculty and staff were also recognized for awards they were nominated for by students.
Dr. Brandon Lenoir, professor of political science, received the Outstanding Professor Award.
Biraj Kayastha from the department of microbiology and molecular genetics was named Outstanding Teaching Assistant.
Lindsey Brownlow, former advisor of the A&S Student Council and the university’s new Coordinator of New Student Orientation, received the Outstanding Staff Award.
Dahlia Gonzalez Molloy, senior academic adviser for the department of sociology, was honored with the Outstanding Advisor Award.
Dr. Z. Randall Stroope, associate professor of choral studies with the department of music and Director of Vocal and Choral Activities, received the Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award.
The Outstanding Club Award went to the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), which also won the award the previous year.
