OSU Concert Chorale: 'Compassion's Door' a musical offering

The nationally-recognized Oklahoma State University Concert Chorale will present “Compassion’s Door” featuring works from classical to modern that convey three center posts: love, silence and the perpetual, on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center Concert Hall.

This fast-paced, 75-minute program will include works by Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Lauridsen, Whitacre, Dr. Z Randall Stroope, conductor of the concert, and several Baltic composers such as Arvo Pärt and Peteris Vaska.

"Each work has been carefully chosen to emphasize a different musical effect," Stroope said. "The concert will be a highlight of the year."

The 50-voice choir will be joined by guest faculty artist Melissa Bosma on the Oboe and graduate conductor David Brewer.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, $10 general admission, $7 for students and seniors, or in advance by clicking here.

Tickets are available online until 4 p.m. the afternoon of the concert. They will go on sale in the Seretean Center's box office one hour before the performance. Tickets are also available, weekdays, at the Music Department office, room 132, in the Seretean Center.
