Because history involves the study of the earliest human civilization all the way up to today, this image incorporates three examples from various points in time. In the distance are the pyramids of ancient Egypt, built more than 4,000 years ago. In the middle is France’s famous Palace of Versailles, dating back to the 1600s. The foreground shows modern New York City. Together, they symbolically create a collage of the entire span of human history.
