The Department of Art, Graphic Design and Art History has been based in the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts since 1984. Placing the building in a landscape by legendary artist Vincent van Gogh is symbolic for multiple reasons. First, van Gogh’s work changed the course of art production and art history. Also, he died the year OSU was founded, 1890. This image is the product of graphic design, and included on a second-floor window is the Apple spinning wheel seen so often by graphic design students.
