About

The Statistics Department at Oklahoma State University allows you to gain experience in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, and work collaboratively with people from a broad range of disciplines. A bachelor’s degree in statistics will propel you into a segment of specialists inhigh-demand in today's workforce. Because of the applied nature of the statistics discipline, you may be able to pursue a second major in another discipline that utilizes statistical applications and concepts. The Statistics Department offers an education emphasizing the implementation of statistical methodology, the use of technology, and the application of statistics to other disciplines.

The majority of courses within Statistics include Math, Computer Science, Statistics, and Applied Statistics. Courses to expect for this major include Statistical Methods, Calculus, and Computer Science.

BS - Statistics

Minor

The Statistics minor can be useful for youin many diverse fields such as the social sciences, biological sciences, business, and education along with many other majors.  Many students find the Statistics minor to be a natural extension of their major field of study since the application of statistics is pervasive in many other disciplines.  A Statistics minor can broaden your opportunities of employment in your major.

Become an OK-LSAMP Scholar! OK-LSAMP is a consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities working together to develop programs aimed at increasing the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The OK-LSAMP scholarship program provides scholars with increased opportunities and connections, including undergraduate research experiences, graduate school preparation, international experiences, and internships/externships with companies in the STEM fields. Eligible students in this major will receive a $1,000 stipend from the College of Arts and Science their first semester.
