Jacee McCoy
Major: Biochemistry
Introduction
Jacee McCoy is a senior from Katy, Texas majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Chemistry, Microbiology and Spanish. Upon graduating, she plans to attend medical school to become a physician scientist and pediatric surgeon. While at Oklahoma State University, Jacee has conducted research on the virulence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus aureus, as a College of Arts and Sciences Freshman Research Scholar and an Oklahoma Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Scholar. During her time at OSU, she has had the opportunity to present her research at a variety of conferences across the nation.
Jacee currently serves as the Vice-President of the College of Arts and Sciences Student Council serving the student body, faculty and staff through a variety of programming events and activities. She also serves as the Vice-President of the College of Arts and Sciences Ambassadors where she interacts with prospective students and their families at a variety of OSU events. In addition to these two organizations, Jacee is an active member of Alpha Epsilon Delta- Pre-Health Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and OSU’s Academic Integrity Panel. While maintaining her status on the Dean’s list or President’s List each semester, Jacee was given the honor of serving as the 2019 President’s Convocation speaker for the class of 2023.
