The exhibition of 40 works explores intersections between art and written language in contemporary East Asian culture. Representing a variety of styles and media, the artworks convey not only the complex cultural heritage of calligraphy and bookmaking in traditional Asia, but they also respond to recent changes in Asian politics and social environments.

Please show your Support for Science locally by attending the 3rd Annual Life Science Freshman Research Scholars Research Symposium on April 22. The scholars will present posters describing the progress, results, and future directions of their year-long research. This year’s symposium will be held 12pm-3pm on the 3rd floor of the Noble Research Center.  A light lunch will be provided.

kaipaOnce a year, one professor from each of OSU’s six colleges is chosen by students of the OSU Mortar Board honor society for special recognition. For an assistant professor from the Department of Communications Sciences and Disorders, it is a validation of the work he does every day to help and guide students and research alike.

Dr. Ramesh Kaipa, who also serves as the department’s graduate studies coordinator and director of the Motor Speech Laboratory, was awarded the 2017 Golden Torch Award by the Achafoa chapter of Mortar Board, representing the college during the honor organization’s April 2 banquet in the Student Union Ballroom.

trumpsBudding musicians in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Music at Oklahoma State University were eager to show their brass as OSU took first place in the Solo Undergraduate Division, marking the fifth time in four years OSU took first at the National Trumpet Competition, held March 25 – 25 on the campus of Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colo.

Mitchell Meyer wowed the judges to capture first place in the 2017 College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, held March 30 inside the OSU Physical Science building, and hosted by the CAS Student Council.
