Plans to use Unmanned Aerial Systems Industry to illustrate
Dr. Stephen McKeever will present "Economic Growth Based on Science and Technology: An Illustration using the Unmanned Aerial Systems Industry in Oklahoma," at 7 p.m. Friday April 11, in Physical Sciences, room 103 at Oklahoma State University. The lecture is free and open to the public. Prior to the lecture, a reception with coffee and pastries will be held in Physical Sciences 117 starting at 6:30 p.m.
Three College of Arts & Sciences students earned awards from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Geology’s Michael Powers joined Zoology’s Kaati Schreier and Ashley Love as recipients of the prestigious award.
Dr. Charles Abramson was recently named the Lawrence L. Boger Professor. A Regents Professor in Psychology, Abramson has earned international acclaim for his research in several areas.
On Monday night the College of Arts and Sciences held its first internal 3-Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. Sharmily Khanam earned the top prize and will represent the college in the university-wide contest on Thursday, April 10 at 7 p.m.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin joined Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis and representatives from the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) and the UTeach Institute to officially announce the launch of OSUTeach and a $1.4 million grant from NMSI for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teacher preparation.
