30 BOONE PICKENS SCHOOL OF GEOLOGY GSA South-Central 2023 Camelia Knapp The 2023 South-Central Geological Society of America conference was a huge success thanks to all involved! I’d like to thank Dr. Todd Halihan, the conference chair, Dr. Tracy Quan and Dr. Ahmed Ismail, the technical program chairs, all the other faculty co-organizers, all the session, short courses, field trip organizers, all the presenters, all the judges, and all the alumni including Patty and Lawrence Walker that contributed at making it a success. Sandy Earls ran the BPSoG booth and Tim Sickbert got everything in place for the poster plotting. My long-time colleague, Dr. Alicia Wilson from the University of South Carolina gave the Darcy Lecture and it was a wonderful overview of her research on salt marshes.
